W.K. Kellogg Foundation
The W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF) is driven by a powerful mission—to create opportunities for children, families, and communities to thrive. Their work goes beyond philanthropy; it’s about building equitable systems in education, health, and economic opportunity while fostering racial equity and healing.
Despite being spread across the country, WKKF’s dedicated team comes together each year for Huddle Week—a dynamic gathering at their headquarters in Battle Creek, Michigan. This annual event is more than just meetings; it’s a celebration of their culture, history, and collective impact. Throughout the week, employees engage in team-building activities, strategic discussions, and immersive learning experiences that strengthen their shared commitment to transformational change.
I spent the week with the WKKF staff, photographing thier Huddle Week, capturing moments of collaboration, inspiration, and even a little dancing! My work will be featured on WKKF’s website and marketing materials, helping to tell the story of their mission-driven work. A particularly moving experience was joining a historical tour that highlighted the legacy of Sojourner Truth, the Underground Railroad, and other pivotal moments in Battle Creek’s history—reminders of the resilience and progress that shape WKKF’s values today.
The week culminated in a lively celebration with dinner, dancing, and a photo booth, reflecting the energy and passion of this incredible team. Their dedication to making a difference is undeniable, and it was truly inspiring to witness and document their work firsthand.
