In 2021, Tekna was acquired by Re:Build Manufacturing, a young startup with a bold mission to reignite American industry. By uniting engineering and manufacturing companies across the U.S., Re:Build is creating a collaborative force that’s greater than the sum of its parts—focused on innovation, long-term value, and community impact.

As the brand began to take shape, our team stepped in to help refine and unify its identity. We addressed early challenges—an inconsistent color palette, mixed visual styles, and an underdeveloped logo—and brought cohesion through thoughtful design direction. From website and print materials to photography and brand guidelines, we helped Re:Build establish a strong, professional presence built to grow with their evolving vision.

As Re:Build grows and adapts, we continue to evolve the brand alongside them—ensuring it remains strong, clear, and ready for what’s next.

 
 
 

A Network of Brand Consistency

Re:Build has navigated a unique challenge in unifying its newly acquired member sites – each one with a well-established, legacy brand – under a single cohesive umbrella. To address this, our team collaborated closely with Re:Build’s staff and the member companies themselves, taking a flexible approach that balanced consistency with local identity.

Together, we crafted a branding solution that feels natural to customers familiar with each site’s longtime name while introducing the Re:Build presence in a way that is both professional and seamless. The end result is a comprehensive, unified brand architecture that honours each member company’s history and operational style, demonstrating a collaborative effort that successfully integrated diverse brands without losing their individual character.

Logo Design For a New Member Company

When Re:Build launched Battery Solutions, they needed a brand identity that felt innovative, technical, and forward-thinking—something that would stand strong within their growing family of companies while still feeling distinct. My team and I got to work, developing a variety of logo concepts that balanced clean, modern aesthetics with a nod to the technical precision that defines the battery industry. In the end, the client chose my design—a proud moment and a rewarding collaboration.

The icon is built directly from the "B" in the company name, abstracted to also mimic the unique shape of the battery pods produced by Battery Solutions. This subtle connection between logo and product added an extra layer of meaning and craftsmanship that resonated strongly with the client. They appreciated the logo’s crisp, engineered appearance, feeling it captured the spirit of modern industrial innovation they were striving for. Today, the logo proudly represents a powerful new chapter within the Re:Build legacy, helping to establish Battery Solutions as a bold, trusted name in the evolving battery technology landscape.

 

 

Capturing Re:Builders at Work

Building the brand required consistent and professional photography of both Re:Build and its member companies for use across websites, social media, and publications. As one of Re:Build-Tekna’s lead photographers, I documented the brand’s evolution—from the early stages before facility renovations to the official press release events and the local community members who reflect New Kensington’s culture, resilience, and optimism. This work has expanded to include other Re:Build locations across the country, capturing the advanced technology, manufacturing processes, and industry expertise that define the organization’s growing network.

 
 
 

 

A Living, Breathing Brand

Since the day Re:Build acquired Tekna, I have had the unique opportunity to help shape and grow the Re:Build brand from the ground up. Developing the original brand identity and logo was the very first project, laying the foundation for what would become a dynamic and evolving visual presence. From those early days, my contributions have spanned a wide range of brand touchpoints—creating everything from business cards, booklets, and sell sheets to websites, social media content, photography, presentations, t-shirts, gift boxes, and more.

While I am just one piece of the larger Re:Build story, my role has been a foundational one. Through consistent collaboration and a deep understanding of the brand’s mission, I’ve been able to help build a strong, recognizable, and professional identity that continues to evolve alongside the company's rapid growth.
